So, I'm (way) late again... get over it, I have... the twenty first century
has a nasty habit of catching up with us! That's what happens when 4 of
the last 5 days have been spent traveling. Poor me, I'm so abused by
reality! What an inconvenience!
This weekend is all about "The New Narrative" of the Dhimmicrats, where Iraq
is lost regardless of any success engendered by the surge. Oh, and General
Petraeus is a puppet of McChimpy Bushitler, so there's no reason to pay
attention to anything he says anyway, since we have the "non-partisan" GAO
report illegally leaked to the press this week. And did you notice that
the Dhimmicrats and their
myrmidons in the DBM have yet another new benchmark for success in Iraq?
One of the tests for conservatives is our ability to tolerate the ignorance of
the general population for the ever changing goal posts imposed by the DBM and
their allies in the DNC.
So, given that premise, what are the shows up to this week?
NBC Meet The Press is a gabfest amongst anointed establishment
players in both parties. How unusual. The operative term there is
"establishment." As an intellectual exercise it would be interesting to
examine how this crowd came to represent "the establishment," but that's not in
the cards. Suffice to say that if you want to examine the tiny minds of
the powers that be in each party then pay attention to the brain trust that
hires this crowd as their "experts." Truly sad. Perhaps our country
is doomed, after all.
CBS Face The Nation brings us two of the most annoying and
inconsequential talking heads in our current political universe, Joe Biden and
Lindsey Graham. The greatest joy of the Washington summer recess is that
these two non-entities have been largely absent from the weekly shows.
Ironically, on paper, they are two of the most admirable elected officials in
Washington, at least in regards to the war, with one (Biden) having a son
leaving soon for Iraq and the other (Graham) having served (briefly) in Iraq as
a JAG officer as part of his reserve commitment. So, what will this
brain trust grace us poor peons with? Well, it's safe to say that Iraq and
Alberto Gonzales will be portrayed as "bad" and at least the Dhimmicrat version
of politics will be portrayed as "good." I know, I know. I'm not
doing a lot of heavy lifting with that prediction, but it's in keeping with the
intellectual level of the Sunday shows.
Fox News Sunday gives us the unmitigated joy of Washington's
latter day Dr. Frankenstein and his faithful Igor, Leahy and Specter.
Never have two such unworthies ever complimented each other so well. What
is the old saw? We get the government we deserve? Well, we must have
done something very bad to deserve these two, particularly in the positions that
they currently fill. Were someone to mount a campaign to demonstrate the
lack of competency in the current Washington ruling class these two would be at
the top of any list of characters to feature. Brits back from his August
vacation and it appears the the left is choosing him as a target, not only for
general abuse but especially in the war of words regarding global warming.
Could the establishment be hoping for a smack down by Juan on Brit this week?
CNN Late Edition Provides us a Republican senator who has just
been targeted by Al Qaeda anti-aircraft fire versus a Dhimmicrat congressman
closely allied with Alcee Hastings. Whom do you think I want to hear from?
Of course, the fact that Shelby is getting air time probably means that he is
pulling a John Warner. What politicians won't do to get face time!
They follow this pairing with Lanny Davis and Ben Ginsberg for the spin on the
spin. I will say that the more the old line Clintonistas come front and
center for Hillary the more those who despise the Clintons will be energized.
Finally CNN offers up their take on Iraq, complete with their dedicated
anti-American "war" correspondent, Michael Ware. I think I'll pass.
ABC This Week provides the return of the other ubiquitous
Dhimmicrat, Chuck Schumer, just in time to share his "wisdom" with the President
on the nature of our next Attorney General. I hate to break it to Chuck,
but no prominent New York politicians are, or ever have been, currently viable
as Attorney General, particularly the NY governor, Elliot "abuse-r-us" Spitzer,
who is likely to be looking for outside (criminal) council in the near
future himself. But of course you wouldn't know that if you depended on
the DBM for your news. God bless FreeRepublic! Mike Huckabee rounds
out Curious George's show this week, though I must say that the more he talks
the less appeal he has for me in the GOP "horse race." Perhaps that's
George Steponallofus plan?
The Saturday shows (long over as I type) offer up more predictable fare,
particularly with at least two repeats (JER and Russert's CNBC show).
The Beltway Boys concentrate on over emphasizing Larry Craig's
non-crime (fatal for a Republican, in character and no big deal for a
Dhimmicrat) and minimizing Hillary's continuing campaign finance
corruption. After all, she and her husband have established that taking
money from the PLA is not a problem in our their system.
CNBC's Tim Russert Show still lists the repeat from weeks ago of
the Dead Yankees interview, so goodness knows what they're doing. Of
course, none of us care so I don't know why I still bother listing it.
Fox News Watch offers up their invaluable </sarcasm off> take on the
pink triangle crowds latest kamikaze attack on a nasty conservative followed by
traditional wallowing in both Princess Di and Katrina nostalgia with virtually
no introspection at all. This is a show that screams "waste of time" at
the top of it's proverbial lungs. The Journal Editorial Report,
in contrast, provides an interesting and invaluable discussion of relevant
topics, even in a repeat. Could it be that Rupert watched this show before
making his bid of the WSJ? If so he learned a great lesson.
Bottom line for this week, the Dhimmicrats are in full goose bozo mode as
they return from their August recess and this weeks shows mark their attempt to
launch a year long assault on Bush and company. You would think that their
miserable approval ratings, brought about in no small part from their incessant
and patently fraudulent witch hunts against Bush, would have been enough to wise
them up, but nooooo. They have been drinking their own Kool Aid way too
long to let reality spoil their fantasies. I wonder just how many of the
sitting Dhimmicrats qualify as clinically insane? Probably most based on
their recent performance. Isn't new Millennium politics fun?
This should be cross posted to my blog at
Wizards.townhall.com later today. I
have finally caught up over their and I hope to keep up to date from now on. In
fact I'm going to change the format just a bit when posting this in light of the
success of the technique I used to get caught up. This analysis will still be
first but then I'm going to try putting all of the show by show posts into one
big Post number 1. If I end up falling back to separate posts you'll know that I
found an upper limit to the length of FR posts.
This thread exists primarily as a heads up for who is on the weekend talks
shows, what they've been invited on to push (based on their recent
pronouncements) and the spin (meme) the DBM is likely trying to push based on
that information. All of this is prep work for the weekly Sunday Morning Talk
Show thread posted by Alas Babylon!. That thread provides a live commentary and
analysis of the Sunday talking head shows, with valuable insight and exceptional
fact checking. we are the Jedi Council of FreeRepublic, at least in regards to
these DBM gabfests. You wanna know what was said and what it meant, as well as
where they messed up? Read that thread!
Mark Kilmer has posted his excellent
preview of the Sunday shows over at Redstate.COM.
